Okay guys. We've hit a snag.
The last half-dozen or so posts in the Prometheus Project thread, whilst in character, have led to an uneasy situation upon the board.
In order to resolve this I'm giving all the players the option on how best to overcome this 'difficulty'. Please ensure you vote as soon as is possible so that appropriate measures can be taken to get the game back on an even keel.
If in the future it would be possible to keep the posts a little less 'contentious' we should be able to overcome this hiccup. We're all here to have fun and, as we're all still getting to know each other, it's probably wiser to err on the side of caution when constructing your posts.
If characters (not players) come into unavoidable conflict in the game it could be wise to discuss it with the characters player first. I think most of us have YIM and e-mail addresses so this shouldn't be too difficult to achieve.
Thanks Silverback

The 'contentious' posts, as you address them, are the seeds of great roleplaying. Yes, our characters have different social ethos. Yes, our characters come from different social backgrounds. No, they're not going to always get along.
Imagine what the Fantastic Force would have been like if it hadn't been for the tension between Wolverine and the Hulk?
The tensions now between characters are challenges, as much an enemy that they will face as if they were to combat Dr. Doom or Magneto; and by over-coming those challenges, through some good character development in the role play, the group can more realistically come together as a team.
My vote would be to keep going like we're going. None of this is personal, it's all in-character. It's creating who our characters are and what their personalities are like. But if we have to play "perfect" people... there's no such thing, even in the Avengers.
Would Tony Stark be Tony Stark without his battle over alcoholism? How much conflict did that bring into the Avengers? Flip over to the X-Men where you have Scott Summers and Emma Frost, how much tension has that brought to the team?
Conflict breeds good roleplay. And by actually dealing with the personal conflicts between our characters, we'll be able to forge more well-rounded, developed personnas for them.
Just my two cents.

Thanks for taking the time to vote/or leave feedback.
I'll be locking off this poll this coming weekend 26th/27th March and will see what the results are.

For as long as I've been rping, especially with the free-form style, I've always had a policy of taking it as it comes and rolling with it. Way I figure it, if it happens once, rebooting's not likely to help very much as it will probably happen again so better to simply deal with it.
The key is for players to not always give in to their first thoughts on how the character would react, but to keep an open mind to other options within the realm of plausability. Much like in real life, snap judgements can often lead to problems. There's no reason that the characters can't realize that as well.
That being said... I'll take it as it comes.

Okay. From the feedback I've received and the responses to the poll so far my initial thoughts are as follows:
I compile an 'interlude' post in the current Project Prometheus thread that places all the characters further along the storyline.
This means that we don't have to:
1) revisit the old posts for modifications 2) (re)start the new/current thread
Would this be the 'best' solution for everyone?

Works for me.
Drop the conflict, and let it be buried...

This is fine with me, although the drama sits how it is now and we will have to reflect on this later in the game..tis a good story ol chap.

Sounds like something we can all be happy with.
